The Owners

Kim SieverI’m Kim Siever. I have been married to my wife Mary since May 1995, and we have a beautiful daughter named SinĂ©ad. I served a mission in the Utah Provo Mission, and since then have served as a second counsellor in the Elders Quorum Presidency, Elders Quorum President, and Ward Mission Leader.

My parents joined the Church when I was five, so for all intents and purposes I was raised in the Church. I’ve been the only one to go on a mission, and am very glad I did. It further influenced my understanding of the principle of obedience, and it was on my mission that I gained a greater knowledge of the gospel and a better appreciation of the scriptures.

In April 1997, I decided to post the first official website having to do with Home Teaching. I had found nothing to that point, and felt that what I personally had may be useful to others. Well, now I look at my old site taking in around 2000 visitors per month and I know it has been worth it.

I hope you have found this site to be informative, dynamic, and helpful. Please bookmark our site, and pass this great resource to all you know.

John HeschHi, I’m John Hesch part owner with Kim Siever of this very good looking website. Kim is the webmaster so I have to say that. No, we are both very proud of this project and hope that it will be a great resource for members of the Church.

Let me introduce myself. I’m married and have 5 children and 1 grandchild named Aliya Janea. If you don’t have grandchildren just wait because they are best part of this life. I live in St. George, Utah. No I’m not a Utah native, I was born and raised in So. California and have lived in Texas, Montana, Washington, and now Utah. I own my own wireless business so if you’re looking for a cell-phone, look me up. I enjoy the Internet, web design, romantic evenings with my wife (not necessarily in that order), family vacations, and a good DVD action movie.

I am a convert of 20 years and love the work of the Lord. I currently serve as a elders quorum instructor and can’t think of a better way to serve than teaching the gospel.

Having served as Elders Quorum President in 2 different wards and through my activities on the Internet I have developed a passion for home teaching. It all started for me when in 1998 I joined a discussion list for home & visiting teachers owned by Kim Siever. A few months after I subscribed, Kim needed to hand over the list as his life was hectic and he needed to free up some of his time. I took over the list and created a home & visiting teaching website to help grow the membership and to store the massive amount of resources I obtained from the list.

A year and a half later we have joined together our resources to create LDSTeach.com. I hope while you’re here you take the time to read the experiences of other members who have written to me or have submitted to me through the discussion lists their home & visiting teaching experiences. This is the most humbling part of the website and if your looking for something to motivate you to be a better home or visiting teacher reading these experiences will do it.

Well, it was nice meeting you, even thought I don’t know anything about you. Seems I’ve done all the talking. Drop me an e-mail if you have a minute and let me know your experiences as a home or visiting teacher.
