I had shown this program to our Bishop when I was the High Priest Secretary and was asked to make it work for our ward. I did some major modifications to the presentation to show that this practice of "return and report" is not new and was in fact used from the time of creation throughout the ministry of the Savior. I also cited examples of this practice by our church leaders today.

I made modifications to the report form to make it fit both home and visiting teaching and it was then presented to the High Priests, Elders and Relief Society as a group.

A few weeks later I was called to be the High Priest Group leader and this program was put into practice within our ward.

As for our success, I can only speak for the High Priest group in the results we have received. Although it has been a challange, we are finding success in this return and report system. The key in our group has been to have a district supervisor over each district who makes it a priority to get these reports each month. We also have a H/P home teaching coordinator who helps the district supervisors in their efforts. We currently get about 70% of our home teachers in the high priest group to turn in the report, but we are seeing gradual improvement.
